Like the last snow day, although schools were closed the teachers still had to come in for a few hours to work. It was actually good to have time to re-arrange my lesson plans and finish getting next weeks plans and materials ready. Just before noon one of the teachers came around telling us there was free lunch! Unfortuntely (or fortunately, for me!) the office forgot to cancel the lunch orders for today so there were over 100 hot meals delivered to a school with less than 20 people in it! Teachers were each given a lunch and the rest were saved to take to the poor area in the neighborhood, very close to my house.
I've never been to this area but had heard a lot about it and can see parts of it from my house. I was so glad that we could bless others with our abundance. As we walked through the place looked deserted as everyone was staying bundled up inside and our of the snow.
But was also beautiful, snow seems to make even the most rundown, common, dirty places beautiful. It reminded me of what the Lord does to us, covering us with his grace and washing us whiter than snow.
