Cable Cars

Some friends and I did some exploring of our city this weekend and tried out the 'Cable Cars' (more like lifts, not sure what they'd be called in English).

We set off Saturday morning and rode them to the top, about a 20 minute ride. It's on the other side of town from where I usually am so it was fun to explore and find new places.

The neighborhood reminded me of what an international community I'm in. Here we got lots more stares and people seemed unfamiliar with foreigners. At the top we stopped for simit and tea then rode back down.

It's a great view of the city and lots of fun (and free!).
