Wednesday was out one day in Chicago and we filled it up!!! I've been to Chicago before but not in a while and never in the summer. We walked by the lake, down Michigan Ave., and around on Navy pier. Went to the top of both the Sear's tower and the Hancock building and even met a Turkish family on our way down. It was really neat talking to them knowing where the other's were talking about. We had such a wonderful day here are 2 of the things we enjoyed the most;
1) the 'bean' The bean is a huge kidney shaped shinny piece of 'art' (i guess).
Its fascinating and we easily spent an hour taking pictures with doing cool things with mirrors.
2) We also enjoyed the Tribune building. They've set pieces of other buildings into the lower part of it on all sides along with the place and country where it originally was. We found pieces from all different countries including Turkey! This piece was from the Santa Sofia- the Hagia sofia before it was turned into a mosque. They also had a piece from the world trade center. We spent lots of time walking around that building as well taking pictures. It was beautiful!
We finished up our day with, of course, Chicago Pizza before heading to another suburb to stay with Carrrie who was also a teacher and 'turkey friend'
